The news has been out for a while now that french actress Audrey Tautou is been given the role of Coco Chanel for the upcoming film based of her life. Recently the title of the film has been confirmed and it will be "Coco Avant Chanel". The script for the film on fashion icon and legend Coco Chanel is to be taken a biography of Madame Chanel "L'Irreguliere" (The Nonconformist) by Edmonde Charles Roux.

The film is being financed by Warner Bros but will be directed by french film maker Anna Fontaine. The costume design supervisor is Karl Lagerfeld who is the current creative director at Chanel.
