Chadwick Tyler is currently one of the world's most talked about fashion photographers. If you haven't heard his name before, Chadwick is a New York based Fashion Photographer who's work has been published in magazine such as  V, American Elle, Tank, Exit, Joy and Qvest.

He is a favourite photographer to Alexander Wang and Rad Hourani, as he has previously worked for them. He works with young fresh models and rising names such as Imogen Morris-Clarke and Sigrid Agren. I recently had a chat to Chadwick to see how he was and his thoughts on his life as a photographer....

Chadwick, How are you?

I think I pulled my back doing my jump rope routine….I am good.

Have you always been creative? Did you think you would be where you are now when you were younger?

I was really good with finger paints. As far as being where I am now. I didn’t really know that I wanted to be here or if I will want to stay. I get to work with the most beautiful women in the world everyday. I am very happy to be here, for now.

I noticed you only shoot girls, what do you look for when choosing girls to shoot?

Boys are boring....I love women, My interest are finding some of the more subtle simple qualities about a girl that makes her, her. 

How did it feel when you were first asked to photograph for Alexander Wang?

I met Alex on an editorial shoot. He is one of those people you feel like you have known forever. He has supported me from the very beginning. He is a brilliant designer and a dear friend. I can’t say enough about Alex.

What photographers influence your work? What photographers inspire you?

I think all kinds of photographers influence my work. I am always looking. As far as specific photographers that have influenced my work I really can’t say out side of my friend Larry back home. 

There are so many people out there now calling themselves 'photographers', do you think photography as an art form has lost its appeal?

I think the amount of suck is at an all time high. The blind leading the blind. There will be a shift. People are tired of the Pony Show. 

What's your favorite ever editorial to date?

I don’t know that I have a favorite but one I really love is Paulo Roversi shot a series with Natalia V for Numero probably 5 or 6 years ago. I love that series.

What one girl do you dream to one day photograph?

Autumn Hyle

Five things you couldn't live without?

Gracie, shack on the beach, chopin, Nascar, high life.

What do you like to do on a Sunday afternoon?

Watching Nascar with my puppy, drinking a crystal cold high life listening to Chopin in a shack on the beach.

What is one thing many people don't know about you?

That I move my feet back and forth like a cricket in my sleep.

Where would you buy a one-way ticket to?

Beirut

What next for you?

If the Beirut thing doesn’t work out and I can get a return flight. I am considering something in the horticultural arts. I don’t know what is next, something with Flying Squirrels perhaps.
