Sandra Buckland
is one of my favourite knitwear designers today, as i am becoming knitwear obsessed. Since winning the top prize at Hyeres Festival of Fashion and Photographer, Buckland has gained an amazing amount of press. Dazed & Confused magazine named Sandra
"Fashions new Optimism"
. Her pieces are often knitted with the college wool techinique, thick and chunky. Lots of structure is incorpoarted into her designs, inspired by origami. A few weeks ago i had the chance to ask a few questions to Sandra about her inspirations and favourite things...

What currently inspires you?
The production test I recently did together with Italian knit wear producer Maglificio Miles for my F/W 09-10 collection.
What wardrobe item would you buy if you only had $100?
A one-of-a-kind vintage dress.
First knitwear memory?
When we were knitting simple soft toys in school when I was a child and everyone thought mine was the best.
Favourite Take-out place?
The Greek or Tai places around the corner, but I prefer home cooked meals.
Where would you buy a one-way ticket to?
My childhood home town Umeå in the north of Sweden.
Favourite less well known magazine?
Any vintage handicraft magazine from the 50's, 60's and 70's.
Favourite model of all time?
It is impossible to choose, but my favourite person ever wearing my clothes would without a doubt be Tilda Swinton for the latest issue of Another Magazine.

?

What fragrance are you wearing right now?
It is allergy season right now, so I am not wearing any
