Chloë Sevigny loves red heads
02/08/2009
We saw
Chloë Sevigny's
debut line
for
Opening Ceremony
a few months back and everyone fell in love. Now to capture the line in a new and original way, Chloë has decided to move away from the common lookbook and create a limited edition hardcover art book.
The book
"Reds"
features incredible photography by
David Armstrong
which was shot on location in his Bed-Stuy townhouse. The artbook also showcases artwork by creatives such as Slater Bradley, Peter Coffin, Brian DeGraw and Brendan Fowler. According to Opening Ceremony, Chloë began with the idea of red hair. She felt redheads were perfect models for this special project and her plaid-leopard-wool-plaid-tweed line. Opening Ceremony also stated that red heads were a big inspiration for the collection, which makes it even more suitable to choose redhead models. My favourite pieces would have to be the embroided harem pants and navy blazer.
The models Chloë chose were not just any models, but inspirational and talented young people with redhair. She picked Paper magazine's
Julia Frakes
,
Ryan McFarland,
Muscian
Lissy Trullie
,
Jackson Wakefield (8 year-old son to Nevilla Wakefield) and a few more she scouted herself on the streets. Below is some of the picture from
"Reds"
and behind the scenes shots.
